Abstract: Water yield from forest and rangelands have been shown to be augmented by managing vegetation and snow to reduce evapotranspiration. Some arbitrary goasl to increase water yield are chosen to illustrate the potential for increasing water yield. Potentials for the ponderosa pine and pinyon-juniper woodland types are taken from results obtained on Beaver Creek in north-central Arizona.
