| Abstract: |
Results are presented to answer the question of which soils and topographic variables are most influential and therefore can be used to predict herbage production potential on the watershed. Surface soil texture and position on the slope were found to be useful predictors of herbage production on wooded sites after they are cleared. Soil sampling units are used with some success to predict site quality of grassland communities. Importance of working within geographic conditions is stressed. |
