Abstract: Essential or desirable determinants of environmental quality are listed. Considerations for the measurement of perceived environmental quality of the environment, or its components, are discussed. The indices obtained can provide an appraisal of the present state of the environment, and can help to gague the impacts that management actions have on the perceived quality of the environmental.
