Abstract: Two experiments to ascertain the effects of social variables on public perception of scenic beauty of ponderosa pine settings are described. One experiment concerned the effects of land-use designations on evaluations of forest scences. The other experimetn extended a previous investigation of the effects of information concerning forest ecology on scenic quality perception.
